Japanese Modern and Post-War Art

Asia Week New York starts on March 12 and will continue through Friday, March 20, with museum exhibitions and over 40 gallery shows on the Upper East Side.
On this occasion, we are delighted to present Japanese Modern and Post-War Art in our new gallery space on 63rd Street. The exhibition features outstanding examples of Japan's artistic achievements in the modern and post-war eras: screen and scroll paintings from the Taisho through the early Showa eras, bamboo baskets from 20th century masters, intricate gold lacquer boxes, and avant-garde calligraphy and paintings.

Please note that our gallery hours will be extended during Asia Week: we will have an open house on Thursday, March 12 (4pm to 7pm), and will also be open daily 10am-5:30pm between March 13-20.

On Tuesday March 17 at 10:30 am we host a gallery talk on the importance of Japanese art in the modern and post-war eras. Since space is limited, we invite you to RSVP for this event.
