Wheel-thrown and carved porcelain koro (incense-burner) with seihakuji (pale-blue) glaze, formed in two parts: the incense container of rounded rectangular section with a circular base with a slightly recessed central area, the unglazed top with a circular opening and grooves to left and right to allow incense smoke to escape; the lid, with a circular flange that fits in the opening, formed as two projecting wings to either side of a central groove like the pages of an open book
