A natsume (tea caddy), the turned-wood body finished in polished mirror-black roiro lacquer and decorated in gold togidashi maki-e and takamaki-e and gold hirame on the top and sides with ferns, the interior and base in gold nashiji, the rims in gold lacquer.
Signed underneath in gold takamaki-e characters Isshū. Comes with its original fitted kiri-wood tomobako storage box signed underneath Isshū and sealed Isshū.

Tamura started his maki-e apprenticeship in 1977 under the acclaimed maki-e artist Kiyose Ikkō and has received numerous prizes for his outstanding quality works. He lives and works in Kanazawa.
