    Born in Ishikawa prefecture, Tokuda Yasokichi III was a third generation potter using the traditional colored glaze enamels used in Kutani-ware. Admired for his mastery of saiyu vivid-glaze enamels, he was designated a Living National Treasure in 1997.
    This vase comes with its original fitted paulownia-wood tomobako storage box inscribed on top tsubo (jar) and signed Kutani Yasokichi with seal reading Yasokichi
