Japanese Ceramics and Modern Paintings
Thomsen Gallery is delighted to invite you to our new exhibition Japanese Ceramics and Modern Paintings. The exhibition opens Wednesday May 13, and continues through June 26, weekdays from 11am to 5pm.
Our exhibition is devoted to a key part of the Japanese aesthetic tradition that is as dynamic today as it was 10,000 years ago. The works range from stoneware vessels dating from the fifteenth century to contemporary porcelains. Works by two Living National Treasures, Shimaoka Tatsuzo and Tokuda Yasokichi III, are included in the selection.
The ceramic works will be complimented by Japanese screen and scroll paintings from the first half of the 20th century.
